The use of business software systems (Business Information Systems) for the efficient implementation of business processes is as natural as it is widespread in companies today. However, the dynamics of the megatrend of digitalisation present companies with enormous challenges in managing their network of integrated business information systems, which has grown over many years, developing them innovatively and keeping them fit for the future. The business data held in these systems is also increasingly in the foreground as the basis and result of companies' business activities, as it forms the foundation of data-driven decisions and business models.

The degree programme focuses on two fields of competence that are in high demand in application companies and IT consultancies: Firstly, the business process-driven realisation of business information systems, their integration and the conceptual management of entire system landscapes at company level. Secondly, professional and technical handling of business data in such systems and landscapes.

In addition to these thematic focuses, the degree programme offers you individual options: Decide for yourself where you would like to specialise further.

To do this, you can choose specialised elective modules from the Master's programme Cloud Applications and Security Engineering. Here you build up competences in further highly topical subject areas.
In the subject-specific, practice-oriented modules of the degree programme, you will also gain experience with modern tools and systems that are widely used in companies, such as SAP HANA. This is rounded off with a project, typically in collaboration with a corporate partner.

With this Master's degree from THI, you will be ready for successful career advancement in the context of modern business software systems and business data management - whether in industry or in the academic field, for example via a doctorate.

Applying for a degree course
Students may only begin their degree in the winter OR the summer semester. Please note that this Master's programme is held in German. If you would like to apply, please be sure to include proof of at least level B2 of German, or higher, in your documents.
Registration dates
Applications for this degree may be submitted through the online application system from 2 May to 31 August or 15 November to 28 Februar each year.
Admission requirements
To gain admission to the programme, applicants need one of the following qualifications for university entrance:
- Abitur (European Baccalaureate, A-Levels, High School Diploma)
- Fachhochschulreife (Vocational Baccalaureate)
- Fachgebundene Hochschulreife (Specialised A-Level)

Dubious Application Agencies

Currently, THI is receiving an increasing amount of information regarding fraudulent activities in connection with student applications to THI. Therefore, it is important for you to know the following:

THI does not work with agencies. Please apply directly to THI via the Primuss application portal.
THI never asks for money via agencies for application purposes.
THI only sends emails from @thi.de.
THI never asks for money before you receive your admission letter. If you need a VPD from uni-assist, you will have to pay a processing fee to uni-assist. However, uni-assist only checks certain documents and does not grant admission to THI.
The application process is conducted in the THI Primuss portal. Only there will you be able to access your application progress.
