The healthcare sector is undergoing significant change: rising demand for care, digitalisation, new quality requirements and a growing shortage of skilled staff are shaping everyday life. There is a need for leaders who can combine practical nursing experience with management skills. The part-time Bachelor’s degree in Management in the Healthcare Professions is aimed at registered nurses who wish to expand their expertise and take on responsibilities in leadership, organisation and quality management – even without a school-leaving certificate.

During the programme, you will acquire a grounding in business administration, knowledge of people management, process and project management, as well as legal and organisational skills. You will learn to design efficient workflows, deploy resources effectively and guide teams confidently through complex challenges. In addition, you will strengthen your skills in quality and risk management and improve your ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible for demanding leadership roles – ranging from ward and nursing service management to positions in process, interface or quality management. In this way, you will play an active part in shaping the future of modern, patient-centred care.

Applications for this study course are made online.

There you will receive all relevant information on the application formalities and have the opportunity to track your application progress online.
The application period for the summer semester begins on 15 November, for the winter semester on 2 May of each year.

University entrance qualification obtained abroad

If the university entrance qualification was obtained abroad, a preliminary examination of the university entrance qualification by uni-assist is required.

In the B.A. Management in Health Professions study course, there is a competence-oriented recognition of knowledge and skills acquired in and outside of higher education as well as prior academic achievements. This ensures that students do not have to study content in which they have already acquired equivalent competences.
The following competences can be recognised:
- Upgrading training
- Appointments
- Capacities from study courses at other colleges and universities
Depending on your previous education, the crediting of competences can shorten your study time by several semesters. Make a non-binding information request to contact the IAW team at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt and find out more about credit transfer.

Future fields of activity and opportunities are in managerial functions, e.g. ward management, but also in quality management and process/interface management.
