As part of the ‘Control Engineering’ lecture, students on the Energy Systems and Renewable Energies (ESYS) degree programme went on a subject-specific excursion to the waste incineration plant in Mailing.
On site, the participants were given a comprehensive insight into the technical processes of the plant, with a particular focus on the control systems used there. One highlight was the practical presentation of the boiler drum level control system by the MVA technicians. They took a lot of time to explain how the system works clearly and in detail.
The excursion offered the students a valuable opportunity to experience the theoretical content covered in the lecture live in an industrial environment and to deepen their understanding of the practical application.
