Start-up counselling

What you can expect from us

Since 2016, the Centre of Entrepreneurship at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences has stood for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Since spring 2025 we are called Startup Centre!

As a start-up centre at THI, we train entrepreneurial thinking and action through courses and workshops and thus impart important skills and values for self-employment. As the first point of contact, we support the start-up activities of all students, doctoral candidates, employees and researchers, as well as lecturers at THI, by providing needs-based advice throughout the entire start-up process. Whether business model canvas, business plan or funding advice and network support, we are happy to help!

Our service in a nutshell

"Success has three letters: TUN (doing)" - Goethe

Offers for students

You know all about founding in theory, but now it's time to realise your own project and you don't know how to get started? No problem! We'll show you how to develop your idea into a start-up step by step in practice.

Offers for employees and academic staff

Do you have an idea or an interesting research project? Perhaps you are also a doctoral student at the University of Applied Sciences and would like to look at your doctorate from an entrepreneurship perspective? As a member of the University of Applied Sciences, you are directly involved in the creation of new innovations and are therefore ideally placed to start your own business. We will be happy to advise you!

Project inclusion

The first phase is about gaining an initial impression of what your project is about. When recording the idea, we clarify whether it is a co-operation project, research project or non-research project and which parties are involved in this project. For further development, we provide a comprehensive overview here and clarify the status of the idea and which further steps are necessary or where you need our support.

Project development

After recording the core data, we move on to project development. This is where the business model is usually refined. We work with you on topics such as the business plan, exploitation and commercialisation paths and form the interface between the university and your own start-up.

Project support

Together with our network partners, we clarify which financial support options are available and advise you on funding opportunities.

Funding opportunities

By working with the Startup Center, you have the opportunity to apply for funding opportunities that will support you in your start-up. We prepare the documents together with you and act as the interface to the funding application centres.
