As part of the in-depth lecture "Media Psychology Optimisation Project for an International Aid Organisation" in the degree program Media Psychology and Digital Business students from THI Business School visited the headquarters of UNICEF Germany in Cologne. The occasion was the presentation of a media psychology optimisation project that deals with addressing and retaining Generation Z in the work of UNICEF.
Supported by academic program director Prof. Dr Eric Eller, the participants in the project spent several months developing sound recommendations based on empirical data, psychological models and a creative understanding of the media. The aim was to further develop the communication strategy in such a way that young people could be won over and enthused about UNICEF's topics and activities.
The project group was welcomed by members of the UNICEF team led by Ina-Christin Schliep, Lena Schüren-Hinkelmann and Kerstin Bücker. Both sides found the collaboration particularly enriching and offered the students valuable insights into the practice of non-profit communication.
An application for the winter semester 2025/26 on the Media Psychology & Digital Business course is still possible until 15 July.
