Beta Gamma Sigma, founded as an honour society in the USA in 1913, is the world's largest association of business students and graduates. Only students who are among the top ten percent and top 20 percent of bachelor's and Master's students in their year and who are studying at a business school with AACSB accreditation—an international seal of quality that is awarded to less than six percent of all programmes worldwide—can become members. THI Business School has belonged to this illustrious circle since 2024. Professor Dirk Wentzel from Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences presided over the admission ceremony as Master of Ceremonies. He began by welcoming Professor Bernd Scheed, Dean of THI Business School, and Professor Christian Locher, the future Chapter Advisor, as new members. The new members - alumni and students of the faculty - were then officially accepted into the society. ‘This award is more than a record of achievement - it is a promise,’ said Professor Bernd Scheed in his address. ‘Those who belong to Beta Gamma Sigma pledge themselves to honour, wisdom, and seriousness - the values of this global community. Membership is a true premium seal for our students.’ A champagne reception afterwards provided an opportunity for conversation and congratulations among family, friends and faculty. For THI, the founding of the chapter not only recognises academic excellence, but also strengthens its international visibility and its close ties to a global network. |
