The Fit4ProfIN mentoring programme is specifically aimed at (prospective) female doctoral candidates and professors. Our aim is to address women who are interested in a doctorate, are in the middle of it or would like to find out more about the career of a professor and to support them during their individual phases of life through targeted mentoring.

Mentoring is based on the so-called "tandem principle" in which the Fit4ProfIN participants (mentees) are paired with an experienced THI professor as a mentor. The "matching" of the tandems is based on the individual goals of the mentees (professional, social or informational goals).

Three good reasons to attend

  1. Make contacts and expand your network with THI colleagues and external professionals.
  2. Receive support from experienced THI professors on the path to a doctorate or professorship.
  3. Utilise personal development opportunities. → We regularly organise events on topics such as mentoring, soft skills and life planning.

(Potential) lecturers and professors

The proportion of women in professorships at Bavarian universities is currently only around 21%. The aim of the "Rein in den Hörsaal!" (Get into the lecture halls!) teaching programme for women initiated by the Bavarian Women's Representative is to significantly increase this proportion in the coming years.

Highly qualified specialists from the field are addressed as potential female professors and contact is established with the universities. Through teaching assignments, these women specialists are given the opportunity to make up for any lack of pedagogical qualifications.

Details of the teaching programme "Rein in den Hörsaal!" can be found on the website of the LaKoF (Landeskonferenz der Frauen-und Gleichstellungsbeauftragten an Bayerischen Hochschulen).

The LaKoF also offers various doctoral scholarships for female university graduates with and without professional experience.

Currently advertised professorships at the THI can be found at Karriere.
