Why did you decide to study GFTM?

After five years of industry experience, I decided to pursue a master’s program that would enable me to enrich my technical expertise with innovation and technology management skills. The curriculum of the GFTM program aligned perfectly with my career aspirations, emphasizing foresight and innovation along with their practical implementation within an organization.

What was the most important lesson you learned during your studies?

The course taught me to keep an open mind, think from varying perspectives, incorporating both ethics and systems thinking, and approach problems in a structured manner.

When you look back on your studies: What do you still benefit from most today?

The most valuable takeaway from my GFTM studies is the ability to think long-term and consider multiple scenarios of the future before making a decision.

Since graduating, what phases of your profession have you completed?

In my 1.5 years at Infineon, I have developed a strong understanding of the complex techniques involved in power semiconductor packaging processes. This knowledge has enhanced my ability to contribute to innovation and technology scouting, helping me better identify emerging technological trends and applications for our products.

How would you describe your typical workday?

My typical workday involves collaborating with various departments to identify and solve complex technical challenges using innovation scouting tools. My responsibility also includes conducting cross-industry technology scouting to discover emerging technological trends. In addition, I take up the role of an innovation project manager, where I drive the development and implementation of innovative concepts from scouted technologies, aligning them with the organization's technology and strategic roadmap.

What makes your industry so exciting for you?

The power semiconductor packaging industry is exciting as it advances energy efficiency, decarbonization, and digitalization while enabling solutions for electric vehicles, renewable energy, and industrial automation. Continuous innovation and many untapped applications make it an exciting industry for me.

What do you particularly like about your job?

The opportunity to contribute to the company’s innovation journey and the ability to learn something new each day is something that I value greatly.

How has completing your studies contributed to the realization of your career goals?

Completing my GFTM studies equipped me with essential skills in innovation and technology management, allowing me to combine this knowledge with my prior experience in mechanical engineering to contribute meaningfully at a reputable company and actively participate in its innovation journey.

What criteria did you use to decide on a particular career path/step?

I chose this career path as it combines the best of both worlds—technological expertise and innovation management. It offers opportunities to learn something new and exciting every day while providing the responsibility of contributing to the organization’s future growth and success.

What is your favourite future, professional or personal?

My favorite future is that of a tech utopia where humanity advances rapidly in technology across all fields, leveraging innovation to address the world's pressing challenges. At the same time, I envision a world that prioritizes sustainability and values environmental responsibility, striking a balance between progress and a greener planet.
