Participation in the MOSAIK Workshop at DLR Cochstedt

The event brought together experts from emergency response organizations, research institutions, public authorities, and industry to exchange ideas on the use of UAV technologies in emergency management.

A highlight of the workshop was the presentation of MOSAIK by the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), an innovative platform that combines historical and real-time data to support decision-making during emergency response operations.

Our contribution focused on presenting IC-FReD, an interface designed to help emergency dispatchers obtain visual information from autonomous UAV systems. In addition to introducing the research concept and findings, we demonstrated a functional prototype within a simulation environment. Experts from organizations including the Technical Relief Agency (THW), the Police, academia, and other stakeholders interacted with the system, provided valuable feedback, discussed potential use cases, and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

The workshop also featured UAV flight demonstrations, a guided tour of DLR’s testing facilities, networking opportunities, and discussions on ongoing and future projects related to UAV-supported emergency response.
