The event will focus on the concept of the digital twin - a digital image of the city based on open administrative data. Such models can visualise developments in traffic, the use of public spaces, or urban planning and open up new perspectives on city life.
The students use their own visualisation concepts to show how complex information can be presented clearly. Their projects illustrate how digital tools can contribute to urban development and make data accessible to different target groups. The projects were developed as part of a collaboration between Amelie Düffert, lecturer at THI, and Kevin Cordshagen, Head of Statistics and Urban Research at the City of Ingolstadt.
To kick off the event, guests will be given an introduction to the concept of the digital twin and the possibilities of open data. The students will then present their work and explain the underlying approaches and ideas.
The second part of the event will focus on dialogue. Citizens, experts, and interested parties are invited to discuss questions, contribute perspectives, and engage in dialogue.
The event will conclude with a gallery walk, during which the projects can be explored on site. There will be an opportunity to talk directly to the project participants and get to know the concepts presented in more detail.
The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Rudolf Koller Hall of the Ingolstadt Adult Education Centre. It is organised by the Geoinformation Department, the Open Data Officer, and the Statistics and Urban Research Department of the City of Ingolstadt in cooperation with the User Experience Design study course at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. The event is supported by the Ingolstadt Adult Education Centre.
