Why is hydrogen so important in the energy transition?
Are you passionate about the potential of hydrogen technologies and would you like to specialise in this field after completing your Bachelor’s degree in engineering? The Master’s programme in Hydrogen Technology and Economics at THI offers you the highest level of specialist expertise in this field.
You will learn to understand the hydrogen technology chain – from production through storage and transport to the associated applications – to develop new products and solutions, and to assess these in terms of their economic viability and sustainability. These are skills that are in high demand for specialist and managerial roles in this sector.
The three-semester programme is divided into two theory semesters, during which you’ll attend specialist lectures in German and English, and one semester dedicated to your Master’s thesis. You can study the Master’s programme on-campus or online. Laboratory practicals take place on-campus during a few block sessions. Throughout the programme, you can expect intensive support and networking opportunities.
Note:
Previous title of the master's degree: Hydrogen Technology and Economics
Starting in the winter semester 2026/27, only the English-language master's degree in Hydrogen Technologies & Applications will be offered to new students.
