How can the energy transition be successfully implemented in the region? This was the question addressed at the dialogue event ‘Regional Energy Transition – THI in Dialogue’, organised by the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) in collaboration with Uniper SE as part of the Bavarian Energy Days. Around 70 interested participants from academia, industry and the region took the opportunity to find out about the latest developments and engage in discussion with experts. The technical programme was kicked off by speakers from Uniper, who provided insights into various areas of the company. They reported on the business areas of hydrogen, power station operations, hydropower and gas storage, and highlighted the role these components can play in ensuring a secure yet climate-friendly energy supply. The presentations were complemented by contributions on new energy systems, the Bavarian hydrogen strategy and experiences from community energy projects. The subsequent discussion centred on the question of how a reliable energy supply can be guaranteed in the future. Participants took the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with the speakers and to explore different perspectives on the regional energy transition. It became clear that the transformation of the energy system can only succeed through collaboration between research, industry, politics and society. An accompanying exhibition offered further insights into current developments and research projects. The event concluded with laboratory tours at the THI, during which guests were able to gain a close-up insight into current energy research projects. |
