AnticipaLead - Leadership Game

Discuss future decisions with our serious game - explore technologies, change perspectives, build management orientation knowledge

AnticipaLead is an interactive leadership game that supports managers in systematically dealing with future decision-making requirements. The focus is on strategic decision-making skills, ethical judgement and the reflective use of new technologies. The format combines scientifically sound futurology and leadership research with a game-based approach that allows complex situations to be experienced realistically. Participants do not experience leadership in abstract terms, but as a concrete process of action and negotiation under uncertainty.

Leadership in the future is increasingly characterised by high complexity, accelerated technological change and growing demands on responsibility and governance. Decisions often have to be made with incomplete information and concern not only economic goals, but also issues of fairness, transparency and long-term resilience. AnticipaLead addresses this challenge and creates a protected space in which managers can simulate, reflect on and work through such situations together. The game makes it possible to scrutinise existing leadership patterns and develop new perspectives on responsible decision-making in technological contexts.

The aim of the leadership game is to prepare managers specifically for future decision-making and leadership situations. Participants develop a deeper understanding of the challenges of leadership under complex and dynamic conditions. They learn to integrate different perspectives, consciously address conflicting goals and systematically incorporate ethical issues into decision-making processes. At the same time, the game strengthens the ability to justify decisions comprehensibly and translate them into convincing narratives that create orientation and the ability to act in organisations.

The methodological concept of AnticipaLead is based on a stable basic scenario, which is gradually expanded with additional technological elements over the course of the game. Central future technologies are integrated into the scenario via technology cards and form a technology stack that creates new opportunities, risks and dependencies. The participants take on clearly defined leadership roles based on scientifically researched models of team and leadership behaviour. This makes different thinking logics, priorities and decision-making styles visible and tangible. The focus of the game is on the use of two canvases on which the game is played.

AnticipaLead is aimed at executives, management teams and strategic decision-makers who want to actively engage with the long-term effects of technological developments. The format is particularly suitable for organisations that are undergoing transformation or change processes and want to systematically develop their leadership skills with regard to future technologies. Working together in the game creates a shared language for complex questions about the future, which sustainably supports dialogue and collaboration in day-to-day management. The Leadership Game makes existing strengths, weaknesses and development needs in leadership behaviour visible and provides concrete impulses for the further development of leadership and governance. It supports the development of long-term control parameters and promotes a shared understanding of how technological innovations can be responsibly designed and integrated into existing structures. In addition, the game provides valuable starting points for the design of change and transformation processes by systematically considering acceptance, security and incentive structures.
