Prof. Christian Facchi at the Innovation Campus Lemgo: New perspectives for research and doctoral studies

How can universities pool their expertise even more effectively and work together to drive forward research and support early-career researchers? This question was the focus of the visit by Professor Christian Facchi, Academic Director of the THI Doctoral School, to the Innovation Campus Lemgo at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences (TH OWL).

Together with the President of TH OWL, Professor Jürgen Krahl, Professor Facchi discussed current developments in research, technology transfer and the support of early-career researchers. The focus was on approaches to deepening cooperation between the two universities.

During a tour of the Innovation Campus Lemgo, Professor Facchi gained insights into the research and knowledge transfer infrastructure at TH OWL. Among other things, he was shown the InnovationSPIN innovation centre as well as selected research and knowledge transfer projects.

Professor Facchi was particularly impressed by the interdisciplinary approach practised on campus: “Cooperation without barriers consistently put into practice – you can see that on campus,” he emphasised. The modern framework conditions and the resulting research achievements are a compelling example of how universities can successfully drive innovation forward.

Both universities intend to continue the dialogue they have begun, and to strengthen the exchange between
