A practice-oriented workshop in collaboration with KPMG was once again held in the Master's program Financial Management and Controlling at THI Business School. The focus was on a case study involving the development of a restructuring plan in accordance with IDW S 6, which provided participants with in-depth insights into key issues in turnaround management and restructuring consulting.
The goal was to combine theoretical content with realistic application scenarios. As part of the case study, participants developed solutions for typical challenges in restructuring processes, thereby deepening their professional understanding.
The workshop was led by Alexander Flynn, Manager, and Dennis Heller, Assistant Manager in the Performance & Strategy – Turnaround & Restructuring practice at KPMG. The speakers provided insights into current requirements for developing restructuring plans and shared experiences from their consulting practice.
In addition to the technical work, the event also offered an opportunity for direct exchange with the practitioners. Furthermore, individual questions regarding the workshop as well as entry-level opportunities and career paths at KPMG were discussed. The students enthusiastically took advantage of the networking session organized by KPMG following the official portion of the event.
Through workshops of this kind, the Business School promotes collaboration between the university and the professional world and provides early insights into potential career fields.
